1. Read the pump badge. Viron eVo P600: this is your motor, item 21 on the eVo P600 parts list.
2. Match the controller. The eVo P600 parts list pairs this motor with controller 21482, Controller Box BLDC 2 HP. Fluidra lists the 1 HP controller separately (21483), so do not mix sizes.
3. Viron XT? Different motor. The Viron XT P520 lists motor 71462 (Fluidra also lists SP71662, with slinger), and the Viron XT P320 lists 71460 (Fluidra also lists SP71660, with slinger).
4. Check the motor before replacing it. With the power off, check that the impeller can move freely. A jammed impeller stops the pump without a motor fault.

Fitting Notes

Isolate the pump at the power point or switchboard before any work. Astralpool's Viron manuals say the pump must be installed and serviced by a licensed electrician in accordance with AS/NZS 3000.

1. Photograph the pump badge, the motor data plate and the controller label before dismantling.
2. Separate the motor from the wet end and inspect the impeller, mechanical seal, seal plate and O-ring.
3. Fit a new mechanical seal if the old one was leaking or is worn, and transfer or replace the fan, clip and cowl.
4. Refit the matching controller for the pump model, then have the electrician test the pump.
