Spanet SV Mini 2 Controller Only — Control Box
The SpaNet PowerSMART SV Mini 2 control box on its own, supplied with a 3m 15 amp supply lead. This is the electronics enclosure only — the remote heater and the touchpad are separate items and are not included. Order this when the original SV Mini 2 box has failed, been water damaged or been hit by a surge, and the heater, touchpad, pumps and light are all still serviceable.
- Physically Stocked, unlike most 'drop-shipping' websites.

Mini 1 or Mini 2? Count the pumps
The two SV Mini models share a case, a heater range and a feature set. The difference is how many accessories they can switch.
| Your spa has | You need |
|---|---|
| 1 filtration/circ pump plus one jet pump or a blower | The SV Mini 1 (10amp or 15amp) |
| 1 filtration/circ pump plus up to 2 jet pumps plus a blower | This SV Mini 2 control box |
| 1 circ pump plus 3 jet pumps plus a blower | The SpaNet SV3 — the SV Mini 2 will not cover it |
What the SV Mini 2 can run
230V output sockets:
- PUMP 1 — circulation pump, 1-speed pump or 2-speed pump. This is the pump that must push water through the heater.
- PUMP 2 — 1-speed jet pump, 10A max.
- PUMP 3 — 1-speed jet pump, 10A max.
- BLOWER — 4.5A max. Supports variable / ramping speed on most spa blowers.
- 230V — constant, non-switched outlet for an ozone or UV sanitiser.
Low voltage ports
- 1 x touchpad port — SV Mini 2 uses the 8-button touchpad
- 1 x light port — SpaNet SV series LED lights only (2.5" or 5")
- 1 x heat pump port — plug-and-play to an SV series heat pump
- 1 x WiFi port — for the SV SmartLINK module
Features
- In-heater temperature sensor
- Maximum set temperature 41°C
- Dynamic Thermal Tuning — the thermostat point adapts to the spa and its environment to cut demand heat cycling
- Smart Filtration — recognises filtration that happens during heating and trims the programmed cycles accordingly. Daily runtime programmable from 1 to 24 hours
- Auto daily sanitise cycle — runs all pumps and the blower in sequence to purge lines and sanitise the full water volume
- Programmable sleep timer
- Programmable load shedding
- Heat pump interface — heat or cool from 10°C to 40°C, with automatic heat pump detection and element disable
- WiFi ready for SV SmartLINK and the SpaLINK app (iOS and Android)

Spa control systems this replaces
The SV Mini 2 is SpaNet's standard retrofit for multi-pump spas. It is commonly fitted in place of:
- SpaNet XS-2000 and XS-3000 (both obsolete and no longer supported)
- Davey Spa-Quip (SpaQuip) Spa Power 750, 1000 and 2000
- Ampac / Pulsar SQ1000, SQ1500 and Monarch Deluxe Command controls
- Gecko MicroSpa and U-Class packs on two-pump spas
- SpaPro and WWDG multi-pump control systems where the original board is no longer available
- Unbranded and OEM-rebadged packs on Sapphire, Oasis, Vortex, Alpine, Sunrans and similar imported spas, provided the pump count matches
Note the limit: if you are replacing an XS-3000 running a circ pump plus three jet pumps and a blower, the SV Mini 2 is not enough. That spa needs an SV3, which is a larger job.
A retrofit is not a like-for-like swap. Pump cordsets, the touchpad cut-out and the light will usually all need attention — see the parts list below.
Parts you may also need
- SV Mini remote heater: 1.5kW, 2.0kW or 3.0kW
- SV Mini 2 rectangular touchpad (8-button) or the SV Mini 2 bone touchpad
- Touchpad adaptor facia — covers the old touchpad hole on a retrofit
- Overmoulded AMP cordsets — 3-wire for 1-speed pumps, blowers and ozone; 4-wire for 2-speed pumps
- SV Mini heater barrel union
- SV SmartLINK WiFi module
- SpaNet SV LED lights: 2.5" / 63mm, 5", or light only
- Prefer the complete package? See the SV Mini 2 retrofit kit with heater and touchpad included.
Questions we get asked
Does this include the heater?
No. The SV Mini 2 uses a remote heater that plugs into the control box, and it is sold separately in 1.5kW, 2.0kW and 3.0kW.
Does it include a touchpad?
No. The SV Mini 2 takes the 8-button touchpad, ordered separately in rectangular or bone.
Will a SV Mini 1 touchpad work on this?
No. The Mini 1 touchpad is 6-button and the Mini 2 is 8-button. They are not interchangeable.
Can it be hardwired instead of plugged in?
Yes. The SV Mini 2 can be hardwired to a 25A supply by a licensed electrician, which is the usual approach when three pumps and a blower are all fitted.
Can I run two 2-speed jet pumps?
No. Pump 1 supports 1 or 2-speed; Pump 2 and Pump 3 are 1-speed outlets only, 10A maximum each.
Can I use my existing spa light?
Only if it is a SpaNet SV series LED light. Older 2-wire lights and other brands will not run from the SV Mini light port. If you have an older SpaNet round-pin light plug it can be re-terminated to RJ — see the SpaNet tech note. Otherwise fit a new SV series light.
Is the board repairable instead?
Sometimes. We offer a spa controller repair assessment for SpaNet Mini 1, Mini 2, SV2, SV3 and SV4 systems.

To be fitted by a licensed, qualified and experienced person.
To the layperson, plumbing sizes and their names can be confusing due to the nominal sizes and naming conventions used.
This is not something we made up. Plumbers and manufacturers have used nominal (meaning ‘by name only’) sizing for decades.
Simply put, in plumbing, named sizes are often not the actual measurements of the pipe, fitting, or part. A PVC pipe called “50mm” or “2"” does not measure 50 mm anywhere. Instead, it follows nominal sizing, an internationally-standardised naming system.
Almost all fittings we use in the pool & spa industry use “pressure PVC” pipe & fittings. Do not confuse with “DWV” or other pipe & fittings and their names and sizes.
Use the Outside Diameter (OD) to check your pipe against fittings. Below is a quick reference for common spa & pool pipe sizes:
| Imperial Name | Metric Name | Pipe Diameter (OD) |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 15mm | ~21.2–21.5 mm |
| 3/4" | 20mm | ~26.6–26.9 mm |
| 1" | 25 mm | ~33.4–33.7 mm |
| 1.5" | 40 mm | ~48.1–48.4 mm |
| 2" | 50 mm | ~60.2–60.8 mm |
| 2.5" | 65 mm | ~75.2–75.5 mm |
To reiterate, these are nominal sizes and are designed to fit matching fittings — not to measure what their name suggests. These are based on PVC Pressure Pipe AS/NZ 1477 Dimensions1.
- º Internal diameters vary slightly by manufacturer and class.
- 1 Not all pool/spa fittings match these dimensions exactly. Some do not follow Australian or international standards. Chinese spas may use proprietary fittings.
Understanding Plumbing Sizes & Nominal Measurements
Plumbing sizes can be confusing. PVC and many other pipe systems use nominal sizes—the size is a name, not the exact measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems and other plumbing areas so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.
Why pipe sizes don’t match the measurements
The Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) system standardises pipe dimensions so that pipes, fittings, valves, and accessories interoperate.
Plumbers work with these nominal names every day, but DIYers can be tripped up if they try to match by a tape-measure alone.
How to Measure Pipe Correctly
-
Pipe size is identified by:
- The pipe’s Outside Diameter (OD).
- The fitting’s Inside Diameter (ID) (socket opening).
- Pipe Class / Schedule (e.g., Class 9, 12, 18 or Sch 40) relates to wall thickness and therefore the Internal Diameter (ID) and pressure rating.
- The outside diameter of a fitting is not useful (wall thickness varies by manufacturer).
Hose & Tube Dimensions
Common flexible hose sizes used in pool/spa systems (approximate IDs).
| Imperial Name | Metric Name | Inside Diameter (ID) |
|---|---|---|
| 3/8" | 9–10 mm | ~9 mm |
| 3/4" | 19 mm | ~19 mm |
BSP – British Standard Pipe Thread Sizes
BSP thread names are also nominal. The thread OD will not equal the nominal name.
| BSP Thread Size Naming | Outside Diameter (mm / inch) | TPI |
|---|---|---|
| 1/16" BSP | 7.7 mm / 0.304" | 28 |
| 1/8" BSP | 9.7 mm / 0.383" | 28 |
| 1/4" BSP | 13.16 mm / 0.518" | 19 |
| 3/8" BSP | 16.66 mm / 0.656" | 19 |
| 1/2" BSP / 15 mm | 20.99 mm / 0.825" | 14 |
| 5/8" BSP | 22.99 mm / 0.902" | 14 |
| 3/4" BSP / 20 mm | 26.44 mm / 1.041" | 14 |
| 7/8" BSP | 30.20 mm / 1.189" | 14 |
| 1" BSP / 25 mm | 33.25 mm / 1.309" | 11 |
| 1-1/4" BSP | 41.91 mm / 1.650" | 11 |
| 1-1/2" BSP / 40 mm | 47.80 mm / 1.882" | 11 |
| 2" BSP / 50 mm | 59.61 mm / 2.347" | 11 |
| 2-1/4" BSP | 65.71 mm / 2.587" | 11 |
| 2-1/2" BSP | 75.18 mm / 2.960" | 11 |
| 3" BSP | 87.88 mm / 3.460" | 11 |
| 4" BSP | 113.03 mm / 4.450" | 11 |
| 5" BSP | 138.43 mm / 5.450" | 11 |
| 6" BSP | 163.83 mm / 6.450" | 11 |
