Spanet SV Mini 1 Controller Only — 15amp Control Box
The SpaNet PowerSMART SV Mini 1 control box on its own, fitted with a 3m lead and a 15 amp plug. This is the electronics enclosure only — the remote heater and the touchpad are separate items and are not included. Order this when the original SV Mini 1 box has failed, been water damaged or been hit by a surge, and the heater, touchpad, pumps and light are all still serviceable.
- Physically Stocked, unlike most 'drop-shipping' websites.
- Shipped from VIC, NSW, WA, QLD
15amp or 10amp? Match it to the heater
The SV Mini 1 comes in two supply configurations. The difference is the plug and lead fitted to the box, and that decides the heater size the circuit can carry. Check the rating label on your existing remote heater before ordering.
| If your remote heater is | Order |
|---|---|
| 2.0kW or 3.0kW | This 15amp control box (SN-SVM1-15A) |
| 1.5kW | The 10amp control box (SN-SVM1-10A) |
A 15 amp plug has a larger earth pin than a 10 amp plug and will not fit a standard 10 amp outlet. A 15 amp outlet on a dedicated circuit is required — confirm the spa's existing supply before ordering.
What the SV Mini 1 can run
The SV Mini 1 is the single-pump member of the SV Mini family. Its 230V outlets are:
- PUMP 1 — circulation pump, 1-speed pump or 2-speed pump. This is the pump that must push water through the heater.
- AUX — one 1-speed jet pump or one blower. Not both.
- O3/UV — constant 230V outlet, intended for an ozone or UV sanitiser.
If your spa runs two or three jet pumps plus a blower, the SV Mini 1 is the wrong size — step up to the SV Mini 2 or the SpaNet SV3.
Low voltage ports
- 1 x touchpad port
- 1 x light port — SpaNet SV series LED lights only (2.5" or 5")
- 1 x heat pump port — plug-and-play to an SV series heat pump
- 1 x WiFi port — for the SV SmartLINK module
Features
- In-heater temperature sensor
- Maximum set temperature 41°C

Spa control systems this replaces
The SV Mini 1 is SpaNet's standard retrofit for small and mid-size spas running one filtration pump plus one accessory. It is commonly fitted in place of:
- SpaNet XS-2000 (obsolete and no longer supported)
- Davey Spa-Quip (SpaQuip) SP400 and similar single-pump packs
- Ampac / Pulsar SQ series and Monarch-era controls
- Gecko MicroSpa and U-Class packs on single-pump spas
- SpaPro and WWDG single-pump control systems where the original board is no longer available
- Unbranded and OEM-rebadged packs on Sapphire, Oasis, Vortex, Alpine, Sunrans and similar imported spas, provided the pump count matches
A retrofit is not a like-for-like swap. Pump cordsets, the touchpad cut-out and the light will usually all need attention — see the parts list below.
Parts you may also need
- SV Mini remote heater to match this 15amp box: 2.0kW or 3.0kW
- SV Mini 1 rectangular touchpad or the SV Mini 1 bone touchpad
- Touchpad adaptor facia — covers the old touchpad hole on a retrofit
- Overmoulded AMP cordsets — 3-wire for 1-speed pumps, blowers and ozone; 4-wire for 2-speed pumps
- SV Mini heater barrel union
- SV SmartLINK WiFi module
- SpaNet SV LED lights: 2.5" / 63mm, 5", or light only
- Prefer the complete package? See the SV Mini 1 retrofit kit with heater and touchpad included.
Questions we get asked
Does this include the heater?
No. The SV Mini 1 uses a remote heater that plugs into the control box, and it is sold separately. This 15amp box pairs with the 2.0kW or 3.0kW heater.
Does it include a touchpad?
No. SV Mini 1 touchpads are 6-button and are ordered separately in rectangular or bone.
Can I plug a 15 amp lead into a normal power point?
No. The 15 amp plug has a wider earth pin and requires a 15 amp outlet on its own circuit. If the spa only has a 10 amp supply, the 10amp version with a 1.5kW heater is the correct choice.
Can I use my existing spa light?
Only if it is a SpaNet SV series LED light. Older 2-wire lights and other brands will not run from the SV Mini light port. If you have an older SpaNet round-pin light plug it can be re-terminated to RJ — see the SpaNet tech note. Otherwise fit a new SV series light.
Will a SV Mini 2 touchpad work on this?
No. The SV Mini 1 takes the 6-button touchpad; the SV Mini 2 takes the 8-button. They are not interchangeable.
My old system had two jet pumps and a blower. Will this work?
No. The SV Mini 1 has one auxiliary outlet. You need the SV Mini 2 or an SV3.
Is the board repairable instead?
Sometimes. We offer a spa controller repair assessment for SpaNet Mini 1, Mini 2, SV2, SV3 and SV4 systems.

To be fitted by a licensed, qualified and experienced person.
To the layperson, plumbing sizes and their names can be confusing due to the nominal sizes and naming conventions used.
This is not something we made up. Plumbers and manufacturers have used nominal (meaning ‘by name only’) sizing for decades.
Simply put, in plumbing, named sizes are often not the actual measurements of the pipe, fitting, or part. A PVC pipe called “50mm” or “2"” does not measure 50 mm anywhere. Instead, it follows nominal sizing, an internationally-standardised naming system.
Almost all fittings we use in the pool & spa industry use “pressure PVC” pipe & fittings. Do not confuse with “DWV” or other pipe & fittings and their names and sizes.
Use the Outside Diameter (OD) to check your pipe against fittings. Below is a quick reference for common spa & pool pipe sizes:
| Imperial Name | Metric Name | Pipe Diameter (OD) |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 15mm | ~21.2–21.5 mm |
| 3/4" | 20mm | ~26.6–26.9 mm |
| 1" | 25 mm | ~33.4–33.7 mm |
| 1.5" | 40 mm | ~48.1–48.4 mm |
| 2" | 50 mm | ~60.2–60.8 mm |
| 2.5" | 65 mm | ~75.2–75.5 mm |
To reiterate, these are nominal sizes and are designed to fit matching fittings — not to measure what their name suggests. These are based on PVC Pressure Pipe AS/NZ 1477 Dimensions1.
- º Internal diameters vary slightly by manufacturer and class.
- 1 Not all pool/spa fittings match these dimensions exactly. Some do not follow Australian or international standards. Chinese spas may use proprietary fittings.
Understanding Plumbing Sizes & Nominal Measurements
Plumbing sizes can be confusing. PVC and many other pipe systems use nominal sizes—the size is a name, not the exact measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems and other plumbing areas so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.
Why pipe sizes don’t match the measurements
The Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) system standardises pipe dimensions so that pipes, fittings, valves, and accessories interoperate.
Plumbers work with these nominal names every day, but DIYers can be tripped up if they try to match by a tape-measure alone.
How to Measure Pipe Correctly
-
Pipe size is identified by:
- The pipe’s Outside Diameter (OD).
- The fitting’s Inside Diameter (ID) (socket opening).
- Pipe Class / Schedule (e.g., Class 9, 12, 18 or Sch 40) relates to wall thickness and therefore the Internal Diameter (ID) and pressure rating.
- The outside diameter of a fitting is not useful (wall thickness varies by manufacturer).
Hose & Tube Dimensions
Common flexible hose sizes used in pool/spa systems (approximate IDs).
| Imperial Name | Metric Name | Inside Diameter (ID) |
|---|---|---|
| 3/8" | 9–10 mm | ~9 mm |
| 3/4" | 19 mm | ~19 mm |
BSP – British Standard Pipe Thread Sizes
BSP thread names are also nominal. The thread OD will not equal the nominal name.
| BSP Thread Size Naming | Outside Diameter (mm / inch) | TPI |
|---|---|---|
| 1/16" BSP | 7.7 mm / 0.304" | 28 |
| 1/8" BSP | 9.7 mm / 0.383" | 28 |
| 1/4" BSP | 13.16 mm / 0.518" | 19 |
| 3/8" BSP | 16.66 mm / 0.656" | 19 |
| 1/2" BSP / 15 mm | 20.99 mm / 0.825" | 14 |
| 5/8" BSP | 22.99 mm / 0.902" | 14 |
| 3/4" BSP / 20 mm | 26.44 mm / 1.041" | 14 |
| 7/8" BSP | 30.20 mm / 1.189" | 14 |
| 1" BSP / 25 mm | 33.25 mm / 1.309" | 11 |
| 1-1/4" BSP | 41.91 mm / 1.650" | 11 |
| 1-1/2" BSP / 40 mm | 47.80 mm / 1.882" | 11 |
| 2" BSP / 50 mm | 59.61 mm / 2.347" | 11 |
| 2-1/4" BSP | 65.71 mm / 2.587" | 11 |
| 2-1/2" BSP | 75.18 mm / 2.960" | 11 |
| 3" BSP | 87.88 mm / 3.460" | 11 |
| 4" BSP | 113.03 mm / 4.450" | 11 |
| 5" BSP | 138.43 mm / 5.450" | 11 |
| 6" BSP | 163.83 mm / 6.450" | 11 |
