Onga Bathtronic, Bathmaster, DR & V2 Spa Bath Pumps - Obsolete - Conversion Options Only
IMPORTANT: THESE PUMPS, ELECTRONIC CONTROLS, TOUCHPADS AND ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL PARTS ARE OBSOLETE & NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
There is no direct, like-for-like replacement for the original Onga / Balboa Bathtronic, Bathmaster or DR electronic system. This includes 2372, 2373, 2377, 2382, 2383, 2387, 2392, 23920100, 2393, 2397, 2401, 2402, 2403, 2404, 2407 and any other Bathmaster / Bathronic Onga or Balboa bath pump with an electronic touchpad.
If the pump, electronic control, touchpad or any associated electrical component has failed, the original system cannot simply be repaired by fitting a currently available compatible part.
Nothing is electrically compatible with the original electronic system. The pump and method of controlling the pump must be converted to a different system.
What This Means
- The original pump is no longer available.
- The original touchpad is no longer available.
- The original electronic control components are no longer available.
- There is no new pump that plugs into the original touchpad or control system.
- There is no new touchpad that simply connects to the original pump.
- Replacing only one electrical component is not an option.
The options shown below are conversion options only. They require changing the pump and the way the pump is controlled.
These are NOT direct replacements and are NOT simple plug-and-play installations. Every option requires some form of modification, which may include plumbing changes, enlarging or modifying the touchpad hole, running a new cable or air tube, and electrical installation work.
These systems were commonly fitted to spa baths manufactured by Stylus, Monarch, Lanark and many others, and were sold under names including Onga Bathmaster, Bathtronic and DR.
Available Conversion Options
There are two main ways of converting these obsolete systems.
Please understand that neither option is a like-for-like replacement. The suitability of each conversion depends on the existing plumbing, access underneath or around the bath, the existing touchpad hole, whether a new cable or air tube can be installed, and whether the bath also has an air blower or other equipment.
-
Option 1 - Convert to an Air Button Pump
This generally allows a similar plumbing arrangement to be retained, depending on the installation.
The original electronic touchpad is no longer used. It must be removed and replaced with a mechanical air button. The existing touchpad hole will normally need to be drilled, enlarged or otherwise modified to accept the new air button.
A new air tube must then be run between the air button and the replacement pump.
-
Option 2 - Convert to SensaTouch
This replaces the obsolete Onga / Balboa electronic system with a different pump and control system.
Some plumbing modification will normally be required. A new SensaTouch touchpad cable must also be run from the new pump to the edge of the bath.
The new touchpad will generally fit within many original touchpad locations, but the dimensions and available access must be checked before purchasing or commencing installation.
Before ordering, make sure you understand what modifications are required for your particular bath. Do not assume that matching your old model number means the new system will simply bolt in and connect to the existing wiring or touchpad.
Find Your Existing Pump Model - Find the model number printed on your existing Onga / Balboa pump, then use the corresponding conversion options below.
Models 2372, 2373, 2382, 2383, 2393 - These models can be converted using either of the following:
Air Button Conversion
SensaTouch Conversion
These are conversion options only. Neither option connects directly to the original electronic touchpad or electrical controls.
Models 2377, 2387, 2392, 23920100, 2393, 2397, 2401, 2402, 2403, 2404, 2407 - These models can be converted using either of the following:
Air Button Conversion
SensaTouch Conversion
These are conversion options only. Neither option connects directly to the original electronic touchpad or electrical controls.
Models 2376, 2386, 2396, 2409
These non-heated DR models can be converted to an air-button system using:
This is not a direct replacement for the original electronic system. The original controls cannot be reused.
Important Before Ordering
Do not purchase a pump or touchpad expecting it to connect to the original Bathtronic, Bathmaster or DR electronic system.
The original electronic system is obsolete. The products linked above are components used to convert the bath to a different control method.
Depending on the installation, conversion may require:
- Plumbing alterations
- Changes to pipe alignment or unions
- Removal of the original touchpad
- Drilling or enlarging the existing touchpad hole
- Running a new air tube
- Running a new touchpad cable
- Access beneath or around the spa bath
- Electrical installation or modification by an appropriately qualified person
If you cannot access the plumbing, pump area or rear of the touchpad, some conversion options may not be practical.

FINAL REMINDER
The original electronic Bathtronic, Bathmaster and DR pump/control systems are obsolete.
You cannot replace an original electronic pump, touchpad or electrical component with a currently available compatible part.
If an electrical part of the original system has failed, the system must be converted to a different pump and control arrangement.
The options listed on this page are conversion options requiring modification. They are not direct or like-for-like replacements.
