Saltmate Standard PCB

Genuine Saltmate Standard PCB, part number SM0098 - the replacement printed circuit board for the Saltmate SMT Standard series chlorinator powerpack. This is the control board that drives chlorine output, the timeclock and the safety circuits. Saltmate supplies one board calibrated to cover the whole SMT Standard range, so the same part number suits the SMT90 through to the SMT200. Supplied with the adjustment knob. Made in Australia.

  • Physically Stocked, unlike most "drop-shipping" websites.
  • Shipped from VIC, NSW, WA, QLD

Compatibility List

This part fits the following Saltmate models:

  • Saltmate SMT90 - 23g/hr, pools to 50,000 litres
  • Saltmate SMT120 - 28g/hr, pools to 80,000 litres
  • Saltmate SMT150 - 33g/hr, pools to 120,000 litres
  • Saltmate SMT200 - 45g/hr, pools to 180,000 litres

Does NOT Fit

  • Saltmate RP20, RP30 and RP40 - the Auto-Clean range uses the Saltmate Self Clean PCB, which is a different board
  • Any non-Saltmate chlorinator - this board is not a universal or generic controller

How to Identify Your Board

  1. Check the badge on the powerpack. It must read SMT90, SMT120, SMT150 or SMT200. If it reads RP20, RP30 or RP40, you need the Self Clean board instead.
  2. Check for a self-cleaning function. If your unit reverses polarity to clean the cell automatically, it is an RP Auto-Clean unit and this is the wrong board.
  3. Compare the existing board and knob to the product photos. The Standard board carries the output adjustment knob. Send us a photo if you are not certain.

SM Series vs SMT Series

Saltmate has used both an earlier SM series and a later SMT series naming across its Standard chlorinators, and you will see both written on powerpacks and in older paperwork (for example SM90 and SMT90). They are not always interchangeable. Read the badge on your own powerpack and match it exactly - if it does not read the same as the model listed above, send us a photo of the label before ordering.

Please Note - Consumable Item

Saltmate classes printed circuit boards as consumable items. Because a board can be damaged instantly by incorrect installation, incorrect polarity or an underlying fault that has not been diagnosed, PCBs are supplied on the basis that they are correctly identified and professionally fitted. Confirm the diagnosis and the model before you order.

Before You Order

  • Read the model badge on your Saltmate powerpack and match it to the list above
  • Compare your existing part against the product photos
  • Confirm the fault has been correctly diagnosed - salt level and cell condition should be checked first
  • If anything does not match, send us photos of the powerpack, the model label and the existing part and we will confirm it before you buy

Warranty

Saltmate chlorinators are covered by the manufacturer's express warranty: 2 years full warranty on the powerpack and electrolytic cell, followed by a further 3 years pro rata warranty on the electrolytic cell. Warranty is provided by Saltmate Australia Pty Ltd. Cell damage caused by running below 4000 ppm salt, incorrect installation or chemical imbalance is not a manufacturing fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Saltmate models does the SM0098 Standard PCB suit?
It is calibrated to cover the whole SMT Standard range - SMT90, SMT120, SMT150 and SMT200. One board suits all four.

Will this fit an RP20, RP30 or RP40?
No. The RP Auto-Clean range uses the Saltmate Self Clean PCB (SM0102), which is a different board.

Does it come with the adjustment knob?
Yes. The Standard PCB is supplied with the output adjustment knob.

My powerpack says SM90 rather than SMT90 - is this the right board?
Not necessarily. Saltmate has used both SM and SMT naming across the Standard range and they are not always interchangeable. Send us a photo of the powerpack label before ordering.

How do I know the PCB is the fault and not the cell?
If salt is in the 5000-6000 ppm range and the cell is clean and not worn, but the unit shows no output, will not power up, or the display and timeclock misbehave, the board is the likely fault. Have it diagnosed by a qualified technician.

Can I fit this myself?
PCB replacement inside a mains-powered chlorinator should be carried out by a licensed electrician or qualified service technician.
