Genuine Madimack quick connect communication cable, SKU 20031, supplied as a 10 metre grey lead with a 7 pin connector. It carries the control signal between the pump and the Madimack equipment it is paired with, so the units operate together rather than independently.
The 10 metre length suits installations where the pump and the unit it communicates with are set apart, for example a pump at the pad and equipment mounted further along the plant area. The quick connect plug is keyed and needs no wiring at the plug end.

Installation
Isolate and switch off power to the pump and to the equipment at the other end of the cable before you disconnect or connect anything. Align the keyway on the plug with the socket, push the connector home, then route the 10 metre lead clear of pinch points, sharp edges and standing water so moisture cannot track into the plug.
Inspect the plug for bent pins, damage or corrosion before fitting, and leave a small service loop rather than pulling the lead taut. Any work beyond unplugging and reconnecting a quick connect lead should be carried out by a licensed electrician or a qualified pool technician.

How long is this cable?
10 metres. If that is longer than you need, leave the slack in a loose service loop rather than coiling it tightly against hot equipment.
How do I know whether I need the 7 pin or the 5 pin cable?
Count the pins in the plug on your existing lead, or in the socket on the pump. If the lead is missing or you cannot see the socket clearly, send us your pump model number and we will confirm which cable you need.
Is this a genuine Madimack part?

Can I shorten or extend it?
No. Do not cut, splice or join a comms lead. Altering it can corrupt the control signal and will generally void any warranty on the connected equipment. Use the correct factory length instead.
To the layperson, plumbing sizes and their names can be confusing due to the nominal sizes and naming conventions used.
This is not something we made up. Plumbers and manufacturers have used nominal (meaning ‘by name only’) sizing for decades.
Simply put, in plumbing, named sizes are often not the actual measurements of the pipe, fitting, or part. A PVC pipe called “50mm” or “2"” does not measure 50 mm anywhere. Instead, it follows nominal sizing, an internationally-standardised naming system.
Almost all fittings we use in the pool & spa industry use “pressure PVC” pipe & fittings. Do not confuse with “DWV” or other pipe & fittings and their names and sizes.
Use the Outside Diameter (OD) to check your pipe against fittings. Below is a quick reference for common spa & pool pipe sizes:

Understanding Plumbing Sizes & Nominal Measurements
Plumbing sizes can be confusing. PVC and many other pipe systems use nominal sizes—the size is a name, not the exact measured dimension. This convention is used across most pool and spa systems and other plumbing areas so that pipes and fittings remain compatible.
Why pipe sizes don’t match the measurements
The Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) system standardises pipe dimensions so that pipes, fittings, valves, and accessories interoperate.
Plumbers work with these nominal names every day, but DIYers can be tripped up if they try to match by a tape-measure alone.
How to Measure Pipe Correctly

Pipe size is identified by:
- The pipe’s Outside Diameter (OD).
- The fitting’s Inside Diameter (ID) (socket opening).
- Pipe Class / Schedule (e.g., Class 9, 12, 18 or Sch 40) relates to wall thickness and therefore the Internal Diameter (ID) and pressure rating.
- The outside diameter of a fitting is not useful (wall thickness varies by manufacturer).
