Description

Obsolete - Balboa SpaTouch Sq Icon Touchscreen Touchpad

Genuine Balboa replacement touchpad, part number B-50587. Confirm the part number and the spa shell cut-out size against your existing panel before ordering.

Important: Touchpad Installation & Warranty

Incorrect installation and physical damage are common causes of touchpad failure. To maximise service life:

  • Pressure: Do not install where the spa cover can press against the screen, or where users may stand, fall or lean heavily on it. Avoid repeatedly pressing the screen too hard.
  • Water exposure: Balboa recommends mounting the touchpad on the exterior portion of the spa shell, angled away from the water. If mounted internally, the panel face must still be angled away from the water. Flat mounting or angling towards the water is not recommended.
  • UV / Sunlight exposure: Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh, direct sunlight wherever practical. Cover touchpad when in sunlight for long periods.
  • Existing installations: Some spa manufacturers fitted these touchpads in unsuitable positions against Balboa's specifications. Scroll through images and refer to manual for more information.

Warranty: Damage caused by excessive pressure, incorrect installation, UV exposure or water ingress is not considered a manufacturing defect. Warranty coverage is subject to the manufacturer's conditions

Note: Updated Touchpad Construction

Older Balboa SpaTouch touchpads may have featured a solid plastic rear backing. Newer touchpads are no longer manufactured this way and instead feature a conformal potting gel.

This gel may appear uneven or imperfectly smooth. This is normal and does not indicate a manufacturing defect.

The gel provides a secondary moisture barrier, supplementing the harder protective coating already applied to the circuit board (PCB). This change in construction does not affect the touchpad's intended operation.
