Astralpool CTX 500 C 2.0HP Pool Pump

The Astralpool CTX 500C is the current generation of the CTX 500, a genuine Australian made Astral / Hurlcon pool and spa pump rated at 2.0HP with a maximum flow of 500 litres per minute. The "C" is the latest iteration and it directly replaces older CTX 500 Mk1 and Mk2 versions, plus Hurlcon TX 2.0 pumps in most installations without plumbing changes. Astralpool product code 21500.

Replaces the older CTX 500 Mk1 and Mk2

Astralpool has run the CTX 500 through several generations. The CTX 500C supersedes all of them and is the only version currently manufactured, so it is what you receive when you replace an older unit. It uses the same mounting and plumbing footprint, which is why it is a straight swap for:

• Astral / Hurlcon CTX 500 Mk1 (first generation CTX 500)
• Astral / Hurlcon CTX 500 Mk2 (second generation CTX 500)
• Hurlcon TX 2.0

Important sizing note: older Hurlcon CX and TX ranges used inflated horsepower figures, so HP on its own is not a reliable way to size a replacement. Match on flow rate and head pressure, your plumbing layout, and what the pump actually has to run. If you are unsure, send us your old pump model and we will tell you which CTX suits.

Common Questions

Is the CTX 500C the same pump as my old CTX 500? It is the current generation of it. The CTX 500C replaces the earlier Mk1 and Mk2 CTX 500 and fits the same plumbing, so no pipework changes are normally needed.

What does the 500 in CTX 500 mean? It is the maximum flow rate, 500 litres per minute. It is not the horsepower. The CTX 500C is a 2.0HP pump.

Can I still get a Mk1 or Mk2 CTX 500? No. Those generations are discontinued. The CTX 500C is the current replacement and Astralpool supplies it as the supersession.

Do I get a genuine warranty? Yes. We are an Authorised Astralpool (Fluidra) Dealer and Warranty Agent, so the pump comes with its full manufacturer warranty and we handle warranty work directly.
