Astralpool CTX 400C 1.5HP Pool Pump

The Astralpool CTX 400C is the current generation of the CTX 400, a genuine Australian made Astral / Hurlcon pool and spa pump rated at 1.5HP with a maximum flow of 400 litres per minute. The "C" is the latest iteration and it directly replaces older CTX 400 Mk1 and Mk2 versions, plus Hurlcon CX 400 and TX 1.5 pumps in most installations without plumbing changes. Replaces the older CTX 400 Mk1 and Mk2

Astralpool has run the CTX 400 through several generations. The CTX 400C supersedes all of them and is the only version currently manufactured, so it is what you receive when you replace an older unit. It uses the same mounting and plumbing footprint, which is why it is a straight swap for:

• Astral / Hurlcon CTX 400 Mk1 (first generation CTX 400)
• Astral / Hurlcon CTX 400 Mk2 (second generation CTX 400)
• Hurlcon CX 400
• Hurlcon TX 1.5

Important sizing note: older Hurlcon CX and TX ranges used inflated horsepower figures, so HP on its own is not a reliable way to size a replacement. Match on flow rate and head pressure, your plumbing layout, and what the pump actually has to run. If you are unsure, send us your old pump model and we will tell you which CTX suits.

Common Questions

Is the CTX 400C the same pump as my old CTX 400? It is the current generation of it. The CTX 400C replaces the earlier Mk1 and Mk2 CTX 400 and fits the same plumbing, so no pipework changes are normally needed.

What does the 400 in CTX 400 mean? It is the maximum flow rate, 400 litres per minute. It is not the horsepower. The CTX 400C is a 1.5HP pump.

Can I still get a Mk1 or Mk2 CTX 400? No. Those generations are discontinued. The CTX 400C is the current replacement and Astralpool supplies it as the supersession.
