Aqua-Flo (Aquaflo) XP2 & XP2e Flo-Master Spa Jet Booster Pumps - All Models - Obsolete (NLA)

Every Aqua-Flo XP2 and XP2e jet booster pump is discontinued and no longer available in Australia. This page covers all sizes and speeds, and shows the Spatex SX replacement that suits each one. The SX pumps use the same 2"/50mm plumbing, so no plumbing changes are needed.

How to Identify Your Pump

  • 1-Speed pumps have 3 wires going into the plug. 2-Speed pumps have 4 wires.
  • Wet-ends were originally black. Some were supplied with black, red or blue wet-ends. The colour does not change which pump it is.
  • Unions are 2"/50mm FBT thread, measuring approximately 78-79mm OD on the pump.
  • Motor height across the range is 197-235mm, depending on the motor fitted.
  • The 2.5HP sizes are by far the most common on Australian spas, followed by the 2.0HP.
  • Check the plug type before ordering. SX pumps are available with AMP (Balboa / Aeware in.ye / Joyonway), overmoulded AMP (Davey / SpaNet) and Australian 3-pin leads. Other leads available here.

About the Original XP2 and XP2e Pumps

Aqua-Flo Flo-Master XP2 and XP2e pumps by Gecko were fitted to almost all Spa Industries spas, plus Signature Spas, Cyclone Spas, Bullfrog Spas, Leisurite Spas, Lanark Spas, Designer Spas, Monarch Spas, Heritage Spas, H20 Spas, Jazzi Spas, Sapphire Spas and many others.

The 2.0HP was also sold as the SGS 4.8 BHP and the SCS Industries 4.8 BHP XP2. The XP2e was sold as 3.0HP, 3.2HP and 4.2HP, although these are the same pump. Spa Industries part number APUM42152A is the 2.5HP 1-Speed.

The XP2 range superseded all XP2 pumps using the Century LASAR Pool/Spa motor with AO Smith motors (Cat BN55 Part 7 - 186364-02, 186364-xx).

Common part numbers: 08240500-6300, 08240501-6300, 08240502-6340, 91698400, 903014, 93556690, 05320024-8040

Still Repairing the Old Pump?

Wet-end service parts for the XP2 and XP2e remain available, including impellers, wear rings, volutes, suction faces, mechanical seals, unions and o-rings. Pump repairs are also available if you would prefer the existing pump serviced rather than replaced.

Notes About Horsepower Ratings

  • Some spa manufacturers use a confusing form of horsepower measurement more commonly used in the USA, called hydraulic horsepower (HP=PSI*GPM/1714). It gives a more impressive appearance, and may give a false impression of performance.
  • Standard Australian HP ratings are calculated purely on input power in Watts, which are then converted to HP (1HP=745.7 Watts).
  • You can always measure the input current with an amp meter and convert back to real HP.
  • Rough HP can also be calculated using Ohm's Law (V=IR). These pumps have an amperage rating that can be roughly converted back to Watts, and then to horsepower. The problem is that some spa manufacturers used slightly misleading ratings here as well, for example a locked-rotor amperage draw. You will see how the amperage ratings and the HP labels do not match up.
  • HP ratings are not an ideal measurement of pump performance anyway. Pump flow curves, which measure flow per metre of head pressure, are a far more reliable method, especially with the advent of variable-speed DC motors.
  • Basically the labels can appear to be very different to the pump's actual HP rating.

Examples: some Balboa pumps marked "4HP" are actually a 2HP pump in Australian terms. Some Aqua-Flo pumps labelled 4.8 BHP are 2.5HP in Australian terms.
